- Sear the ribs. Season the ribs with sea salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder. Heat the avocado oil over high heat in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet. Place ribs to the pan and cook for 2 ½ minutes. Flip and cook for another 2 ½ minutes.
- Slow cook. Add the seared ribs to the bowl of a slow cooker. Pour the beef broth over the ribs. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and the brown gravy mix evenly over the ribs. Arrange the butter evenly over the ribs. Close the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours.
- Make the sauce. Transfer the ribs to a serving plate. Pour the cooking juices into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Whisk in the cornstarch and cook until the sauce has thickened.
